About the Borkerts

Chris has a BS in Youth Ministry from John Brown University and served as Youth Pastor at Hope Fellowship Church in Kansas City for 7 1/2 years.  He grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and still enjoys visiting the mountains at least once a year.  Chris enjoys hunting, fishing, coaching rugby, talking with friends, and playing with the kids.  He’s also an excellent cook and a Denver Broncos fan!

Stefanie was born and raised in beautiful Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She also attended John Brown University where she met Chris and obtained a BS in Family and Human Services.  After moving to Kansas City, she worked full-time for Mid-Continent Public Library and finished her Masters in Information Science.  She left the library to stay home with the kids and hasn’t had a moment’s regret about that decision!  She enjoys reading, writing, planning projects on Pinterest, and taking the kids on fun adventures.  She’s not a very good cook but is also a Denver Broncos fan.

Flora, Scout, and Timber are three little bundles of fun.  Flora was born in October 2007, Scout in November 2008, and Timber in September 2010.  They are currently 4-years-old, 3-years-old, and 1-year-old.  This is a perfect time to make such a transition as none of them are in school yet.  They don’t really know what’s going on but I think they’ll have a blast in South Dakota and meeting the new people at Cedar Ridge Christian Church in Lenexa.

Flora is as girly as a girl can get.  She loves Fancy Nancy, tea parties, and all things pink.  She’s also excited about starting soccer tomorrow!

Scout has bright red hair and is starting to get freckles to go with it.  He has endless energy (which will come in handy when he starts flag football next week!) but will gladly sit still for anything that has to do with the alphabet.

Timber is loving life right now.  He can walk, run, talk some, and play just about anything the “big kids” play.  He’s fascinated with cars and animals right now.
